The Role

This is a hands-on management accounting role with real exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to play a key part in system transformation.

You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and Financial Controller, taking ownership of key operating expenditure lines, supporting monthly reporting, and helping to embed improved processes as we transition to a new ERP environment.

If you enjoy getting under the skin of the numbers, partnering with the business, and making things work better not just reporting on them this role will suit you well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of selected operating expenditure P&L lines, with support across others

  • Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded, applying an understanding of UK-wide operations

  • Review costs, analyse variances, and explain performance against budget and KPIs

  • Investigate and resolve financial queries and discrepancies, working collaboratively across the finance team

  • Interrogate financial systems (Sage / Workday) to ensure accurate, reliable reporting

  • Maintain robust balance sheet accounting, including accruals and prepayments

  • Partner with operational stakeholders to drive a “right-first-time” approach to purchase orders and invoicing

  • Support the preparation and presentation of monthly results to the Finance Manager and Financial Controller

  • Assist with annual budgeting and external audit requirements relating to operating costs

  • Contribute to the successful embedding of our new ERP system and evolving finance processes

About You

You’ll be a confident, detail-driven finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-moving, operational environment.

You’ll bring:

  • Full accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets

  • Experience working in industry or commerce (preferred)

  • A proactive mindset with a track record of resolving issues and improving processes

  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at different levels

  • High levels of accuracy, organisation, and ownership

Why Join Panda?

  • Hybrid working with a strong team presence in Leeds

  • Exposure to senior finance leadership and business-critical projects

  • Opportunity to influence systems, processes, and how finance supports operations

  • A values-led organisation where people, safety, and sustainability matter
